This 100-ton gondola with Barber Roller Bearing trucks was built in late 1970, and in 1978, converted into a covered coil car at the Coster Shops. The Southern Railway was a Class 1 railroad that operated over 6,000 miles of track across the southern United States from 1894-1982. Today, it is now part of the Norfolk Southern system following a 1980 merger with Norfolk & Western Railway.
